BENALMADENA<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Today we will tour the sights of one of the most popular places for foreigners and visitors, not only for tourism, but also as a place to live: Benalm\u00e1dena<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has a large number of leisure and service facilities, including an amusement park (Tivoli World<\/a>) which, sadly, closed its doors in 2021 but the hope remains that someone will rescue it and reopen it for its 50th anniversary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To discover Benalm\u00e1dena, the cable car boasts views and a privileged tour. It also has two aquariums, a casino and one of the largest marinas in Andalusia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Castillo Colomares:<\/strong> This impressive construction was intended to tell the story of the American conquest. It shows the presentation of Christopher Columbus' voyage to the Catholic Monarchs. It was built between 1987 and 1994. It depicts the journey of the discovery of America.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    1. El Bil-Bil Castle:<\/strong> Built at the beginning of the 20th century, it was the summer home of a Spanish-French family. After several alterations throughout its history, it has large exteriors and gardens. Today it belongs to the town hall and is an artistic centre. It is also a centre for ceremonies and celebrations.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      1. Felipe Orlando Museum of Pre-Columbian Art: <\/strong>Inaugurated in the 1970s, it houses two collections: pre-Columbian and archaeological.\n

        • The pre-Columbian collection, which has been increased thanks to donations and subsidies from the city council. It focuses its collection on the civilisation of ancient Mexico and the lower part of Central America.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • The archaeological section, meanwhile, has relics from excavations dating from prehistoric to Roman times.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          1. Cable car: <\/strong>is one of the obligatory stops to enjoy these unparalleled views of the Costa del Sol. It has two timetables depending on the season: from July to October<\/strong> 11h-18h and from November to December<\/strong> from 11h-17h<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

            1. La Paloma Park: <\/strong>Inaugurated in 1995 and located in Av. Federico Garcia Lorca, this municipal park is one of the most important green spaces in the municipality. It has a surface area of more than 200,000 m2.2<\/sup> and has a multitude of free-ranging animals and plants where we can see ducks, turtles, pelicans and a large cactus garden.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

              1. Buddhist stupa: <\/strong>Considered the largest Buddhist temple in the West, it can be seen from the motorway from where this 33-metre high white temple dedicated to peace, prosperity and harmony stands out and has an inner meditation hall. It was opened in 2003 and visits are free, although some exhibitions require a \u20ac2 fee.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
